Melton Rural North – Beat Update
Hello everyone, Here is a quick update on what has been happening across the Melton Rural North beat area over the last few weeks.
Antisocial Behaviour (ASB):
We have seen a rise in ASB reports in parts of the beat area, particularly around Bottesford, Knipton, and more recently Tofts Hill in Stathern, where we have received complaints about antisocial riding of off road dirt bikes.
To address this, we have increased our local patrols and are actively using the ASB incremental approach. Where appropriate, we are issuing Community Protection Notice Warnings, which carry stronger consequences if breached.
We continue to work closely with Melton Borough Council’s Safer Communities Team and local parish councils to ensure a joined‑up response.
Rural Crime:
Good news overall — rural crime and burglary reports have slightly decreased since the start of the year.
However, we have dealt with a few isolated incidents, including:
A van stolen from a rural location
We continue with day and night rural patrols to deter suspicious activity, so please do give us a wave if you see us out and about.
Road Safety:
We are still receiving the usual road safety concerns and collision reports across the rural road network.
A reminder that although our roads are rural, they are not racetracks. Thank you to all who continue to drive responsibly.
Keep Reporting:
Your information really does make a difference.
Stay safe and enjoy our countryside responsibly.
